This is the time of the year that many people reflect on their loved ones, even those that have passed on. Let's share. What do you do to remember your loved ones during the holiday season? I will share my family's holiday festivities.
During the Christmas season, our family meets up at our family home. The home is decorated with everything festive inside and out. Lights, wreaths, trees, gingerbread houses, the fireplace is roaring, we cook and eat lots of great food, and bake homemade cookies and cakes! We arrive and stay from a couple of days to a full 3 weeks celebrating and catching up with our loved ones! We even have friends that come, bearing food from many different countries and cultures. Although we have lost grandparents, uncles, aunts, husbands, friends...we come together, look at pictures, and talk about the good times we shared together. It warms us and brings up good feelings and memories that keep us going throughout the remainder of the year!
